Arlington Public Schools is dedicated to maximizing the strengths and potential of all students so they may become self-confident, well-rounded, responsible and productive citizens. Many gifted students need opportunities to think abstractly, work at various rates and levels of complexity, and pursue tasks independently. In addition, students eligible for gifted services need opportunities to learn with others of like abilities, as well as opportunities to develop social relationships with others of all abilities.

I have been working within the Advanced Academics Coach role since arriving at (the former) McKinley ES in 2013. Prior to coming to APS, I spent 14 years as a classroom teacher (4th and 6th grade) at Flint Hill ES in Vienna, VA. I am a proud graduate of the University of Connecticut and hold Master's degrees in both elementary and gifted education. I became a National Board Certified Teacher in 2008 and was re-certified in 2018. In my free time, I love listening to music and especially enjoy seeing live shows. I enjoy reading books, watching Jeopardy, and supporting Liverpool Football Club. I get to do all of these things with my family, including my wife, our two children, and our two rescue dogs, Rubi and Penny.
