My name is Amanda Herr, and I have been teaching at Cardinal Elementary since 2016. I graduated from the College of William and Mary with a B.A. in French and Psychology and an M.A.Ed. in Elementary Education. Prior to teaching at Cardinal, I taught third and fifth grades at a French immersion school in Fairfax County – in both French and English! When I’m not teaching, I love to curl up with a good book (especially historical fiction) and try my hand at cooking new recipes. My husband and I (pre-COVID) loved to check out fun restaurants around D.C. as well as travel, and we are looking forward to the day when we can safely do those things again. We also welcomed a daughter, Chloe, in 2019 and a son, Luca, in 2022, who keep us on our toes!

We loved listening to our fifth grade friends today at the winter concert! Hands down crowd favorites were the emcees and the "Ugly Sweater" song. Great job, fifth grade band, orchestra, and chorus with @Cardinalmusic22!!🎄🎶🎺🎻
