Hi there! My name is Natalie Ramos and I am a special education teacher who has been teaching in Virginia since 2015. I’m originally from Maryland, and I have fond memories of visiting Annapolis, the Baltimore Harbor, growing up around horseback riding, studying violin, and cheering for the Orioles! I ‘crossed the river’ (so to speak), when I attended George Mason University in Fairfax, Va., where I graduated with my Bachelor’s in 2003. While attending GMU, I became interested in teaching and began my journey of advocating for students with special needs. I then pursued a Master’s in Education at Johns Hopkins University. I have enjoyed bringing instruction to students in both private and public school settings in all content areas. I recognize the need to educate the whole child, offering strategies for social-emotional development using inclusive practices and de-escalation strategies such as Right Response, and by providing a safe and supportive environment for my students to learn and excel. I recognize the need to respond to students’ emotional needs and in a supportive and nurturing manner. I enjoy running, cooking, and spending time with my family and my two boys.
